The Sooners had the dream season last year, but Josh Heupel, a Kenny "Snake" Stabler reincarnate, is gone as is one of their top linebackers and leading tacklers on defense. But Calumus is back Texas fans, and at least 14 returning starters. So how are they going to do this year?
According to some, The Sooner look to be in the top 5 in many polls. An outstanding recruiting class has added depth, and a year of maturity and success for the other players and many are whispering on the plains that this may be an even better team than last year.
The way OU can get back to the promised land is going to be if their quarterback(s) can make some big plays like Josh, but more importantly, protect the ball and keep turnovers to a minimum. If they can do that, it could be a BCS Championship game against that team that thought they should be there last year, Miami.
The excitement is back on Saturday's in Norman and everybody will finish watching the game instead of hitting the pubs after the first quarter... then they will go to the beer joints!
So who do you think is going to be #1?
